About the position
The CHECOD Trainee Associate position offers recent graduates professional experience in key areas of CHECOD’s work over a ten-month period. As a Trainee Associate, you will undergo a series of trainings to develop technical and productivity skills. You will also gain exposure to past and current projects, building a solid understanding of our core program areas. You will then apply these skills and knowledge to work on exciting projects with government health institutions and health development partners.
The Associate By the end of the Associate Program, you will be able to:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of health financing, planning, budgeting, and policy analysis.
- Apply methods for estimating health expenditure, costing healthcare services, and health systems planning.
- Produce technical reports and other publications on the areas mentioned above.
- Develop transferrable skills to enhance productivity in any work environment.
The program is based in Abuja and Trainee Associates receive a competitive pay during the training. Upon completion, Associates typically transition to more senior roles within the organization. About you
You must meet the criteria marked “essential” to be shortlisted. Those meeting the “desirable” criteria will have an advantage.
Education and experience
- Recent graduates with a bachelor’s or another undergraduate degree obtained within the last five years (Essential)
- Graduated with a cumulative GPA of 4.0 or higher on a 5.0 scale, or the equivalent (Essential).
- Must have completed, or is exempt from, the National Youth Service Corps program (Essential).
- Possess a master’s degree or any other relevant postgraduate qualification (Desirable)
- Possess a degree in health sciences, economics, statistics, or another quantitative discipline (Desirable).
Skills and personal attributes
- Exhibit a strong commitment to professional development, demonstrated by involvement in training or courses to advance skills (Desirable).
- Demonstrate excellent writing skills with the potential to develop expertise in producing technical reports or similar outputs (Essential)
- Show superior ability to understand complex topics in health economics and policy, as well as integrate new knowledge effectively (Essential)
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively gather and synthesize data or information from a variety of online sources (Essential)
